Sharing the Roadway with Others/Emergencies/Vehicle Systems

Lesson 1
You will describe problems that pedestrians can pose. This lesson will discuss pedestrians’ responsibilities, and explain how to avoid collisions with both pedestrians and animals.

Lesson 2
This lesson enables you to identify situations involving cyclists, and explain actions that drivers can take to reduce the risk of collision with them.

Lesson 3
You will explain the importance of visibility, vehicle height, and vehicle weight when traveling in a light truck. This lesson examines what precautions you need to take when sharing the road with a small vehicle.

Lesson 4
In this lesson, you will describe ways to share the roadway with large vehicles; and identify at least three precautions you should take near slow-moving vehicles.

Lesson 5
This lesson presents factors that can cause a vehicle to skid. You will be able to name and describe the various kinds of skids.

Lesson 6
You will explain how speed control and knowledge of natural laws can help avoid a collision.

Lesson 7
This lesson will enable you to identify environmental factors outside the vehicle that affect risk. You will describe ways to minimize risk in multiple environmental combinations.

Lesson 8
In this lesson, you will learn to handle failures in the brakes, steering, or the engine itself.

Lesson 9
You will learn strategies for coping with flat tires, blowouts, and other serious problems

.Lesson 10
This lesson examines waiting for help and protecting the scene of damage.

Lesson 11
You will learn what to do if you are involved in a collision and what to do if you pass the scene of a collision.
