Overview of Lesson Material

Lesson 1
This part of the lesson you will learn about the NYS Graduated Licensing Laws and Rules. Parent Meeting is recommended

Lesson 2
This lesson will provide an overview of the contents of this driver education course. You will examine the importance of driver education for teens and understand what you will gain from this course.

Lesson 3
You will examine the three components of the highway transportation system (HTS), discuss its goals, and learn how the HTS is regulated.

Lesson 4
You will become familiar with very real risks associated with driving a motor vehicle. You will learn how to reduce those risks and be introduced to the foundations of effective driving.

Lesson 5
You will learn about the costs associated with driving and become familiar with both crash and non crash costs, measured both in dollars and in lives. fix costs and operating costs

Lesson 6
You, your vehicle, the roadway, and the environment all contribute to the risk factors involved in driving. The four steps of the SIPDE Process are Search, Identify, Predict, Decide, and Execute. The SIPDE Process should be used with the Zone Control System. Used together, these systems allow you to enjoy low-risk and low-stress driving.

This lesson provides valuable information about the use of safety belts, protective vehicle design and child safety seats.
